Margot Henderson of Bethnal Green restaurant Rochelle Canteen and author of the new book You’re all invited (out now, Fig Tree, £25), tells us why she likes eating at Locanda Locatelli and Quo Vadis.
Where would you pay money to eat and how often do you go? “Quo Vadis (26-29 Dean Street, W1D, quovadissoho.co.uk). We eat there a lot. Also Georgio Locatelli at Locanda Locatelli (8 Seymour Street, W1H, locandalocatelli.com) too.”
Why? “[Quo Vadis] has a fantastic bar and they make the greatest drinks in town. Locatelli because I love Italian food.”
Who would you take? “My husband [the chef Fergus Henderson).”
What do you eat there? “Quo Vadis has a fantastic menu. Delicious. I love the smoked eel sandwich. We go there for lunch and sit outside. Locatelli: if it’s truffle season he will have tortolloni with egg in the middle and truffle on top. It’s just incredible. He’s a brilliant cook with a great menu and also the staff treat you like the queen.”
