Al desko: Corkers crisps

What: Corkers Crisps (49p each)

Where from: independent and regional delicatessens, Tate galleries, Q Gardens, Pod Food (corkerscrisps.co.uk).

Taste assessment: with an emphasis on only using sustainable British ingredients, and providing a high-energy, low-calorie snack, Corkers’ 20g bags of crisps will leave you feeling more saintly than the average packet. The smaller portion size and three flavour choices — sea salt, salt and pepper, and (best) Red Leicester and caramelised onion — make for a moreish pick-me-up. The crisps actually taste of potato and provide a satisfying level of crunch.
