The Central line has been hit with severe delays after a trespasser ran on to the tracks.

Transport for London earlier said that emergency services were dealing with a “casualty on the track”.

However, this has since been updated to a trespasser on the tracks near Leyton.

It is not yet clear how long the disruption will last.

It comes after a fire next to railway lines in south London also caused rail disruption.

The incident in East Croydon blocked lines, causing delays to Thameslink services. It is the second trackside fire in the area in as many days.

The Weaver Line is expected to be suspended between Hackney Downs and Chingford until Thursday as a result of the trackside blaze in Walthamstow, which damaged homes and gardens.
