With a refined, absorbent ride and nicely intuitive steering, it’s certainly no chore to drive but the engine, a 1.2-litre petrol producing either 69bhp or 85bhp, with a smooth-changing five-speed manual gearbox — is a little lacklustre. Neither version feels particularly punchy, and they don’t rev particularly sweetly either.
There are two trim levels; Studio, from £9,245 and Zetec, which is £1,000 more, offering smart 15-inch alloys, DAB, parking sensors, rear electric windows, automatic climate control and heated front seats.
Its practicality and dimensions make this a good London family car that’s more than capable of tackling longer trips, too.
