What’s the dress code for Wimbledon?

For the outside courts I’d suggest khaki J Crew chino shorts, a navy Lacoste polo, Adidas Stan Smiths and Illesteva sunglasses — plus a K-Way pac-a-mac for the inevitable downpour. In the posh debenture seats it’s smart casual, so we’re talking bright/pastel Gant Rugger chinos, navy Sperry boat shoes, a Gap button-down shirt in white (pastels show up perspiration; dark colours absorb heat), Persol sunnies and a straw trilby from Paul Smith (above). SW19 isn’t the place for outré trends — unless you count melting face paint and sun hats made out of newspaper
