How do I get away with
camo?
Attention! Soldiers wear camouflage to blend in; hipsters
wear it to stand out. It's a recurring trend but right now London is having a
camo moment. Take your pick from slim-fit combat trousers, bomber jackets and
T-shirts for off-duty; camo-print ties and blazers for offices. An easy way to
incorporate the trend is via an accessory such as a London Undercover Camo
umbrella, Herschel Camo backpack or, my personal favourite, these Valentino
Garavani trainers (above, £430, at matchesfashion.com). But be careful not to
tread on a sartorial landmine when it comes to footwear. Black boots with camo
is a bit BNP. Not such a cool look.
This month Gant Rugger opened its first UK standalone store.
Don't expect baggy chinos and 'Twickenham casual', this is Gant's cooler
younger brother and is stocked at the stylish likes of Liberty, Mr Porter and
