Is it ever OK for a
man to wear fake tan on his face?
The first rule of Fake Club is: you do not talk about Fake
Club. For some men there's still a stigma about fake tan, but at this time of
year people with fair skin look too pale. To avoid the telltale tikka tinge,
use two things: Clinique for Men Non-Streak Bronzer (above, £17.50); and
subtlety. Rub a pea-sized amount between your palms and apply evenly, avoiding
stubble so as not to dye it orange. Then scrub your hands like an OCD Lady
Macbeth. It's only OK if no one can tell. That's the thing. Otherwise you'll
make a right David Dickinson of yourself.
This new label launched in December as a website and
shop/event space on Wigmore Street with a capsule collection of beautifully
simple men's wardrobe staples. Womenswear is next, with special projects,
collaborations and 'a full editorial platform' to evolve later this year. 68
