Review: QMS Medi Cosmetics

What’s the buzz? A medical, methodical approach to skincare underpins the treatments and products available at QMS. Follow their advice and you could end up with skin as pure and squeaky-clean as the salon looks. There’s not a speck of dirt anywhere in this stunningly white spa, giving a reassuring feel that if anywhere is going to get years’ worth of sebum out of your pores (yes, yuck, but that’s London skin for you), this is the place.

QMS was founded by Dr Erich Schulte, a trauma and cosmetic surgeon, based on his experiences of using collagen to heal damaged skin. QMS aims to repair all types of skin to its natural health using collagen-infused products – ideally, following a strict skincare regime over a number of months.

My clogged skin experienced the Deep Cleanse Intense with Oxygen Boost facial, which takes just over an hour. My pores were deep cleansed using QMS products and my face went bright red – not a sign of allergy though, but a sign that my skin was reacting well to being unusually deeply cleansed.

A combination of masks, toners and gels were used throughout the hour, my favourite being the luxurious Hydro Foam Mask. If you’re claustrophobic like me, ask for your eyes not to be covered with the masks. You might also not like your face being sprayed with oxygen – apparently most people are fine with this, and it does help the skin to regenerate, so have a go and they’ll always stop if you freak out like I did.

You need a course of facials to benefit fully but my skin certainly looked brighter after one session, and the bottle of Deep Cleansing emulsion that came home with me is helping upkeep – this is a really fantastic cleanser.
