The team behind Sherlock are set to reunite for a brand new TV adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat will pen a new series for the BBC, based on the original 1897 gothic novel about the blood-sucking count.
Sticking with their tried and tested Sherlock formula, the pair will go for quality over quantity by producing a short series of feature-length episodes.
The duo are reportedly set to start work on the new show later this year with a view to it airing in late 2019.

“It’s early days and the BBC has not seen a script yet but they are close to signing a deal for a series of 90-minute films of Dracula,” a source told the Radio Times.
It is still unknown whether or not the series will be set in the 1800s of will be moved to the modern day, as with Sherlock.
“What needs to be decided is how many episodes – whether there are three or five or six or whatever but they will definitely be 90-minute films,” said the insider.
"Production is at least a year away so it will probably be on screen in 2019 at the earliest.”

Casting for the lead role, which has previously been played by Christopher Lee and Gary Oldman, is thought to still be a long way off.
The last series of Sherlock aired back in January, with no news as to if or when it might return to screens.
