James Haskell and Jacqueline Jossa have been elected as leader and deputy leader of the I'm A Celebrity campsite.

The former England rugby pro, 34, was voted for by the rest of the camp after they undertook a gruesome bushtucker trial.

During the task, called the Pest Office, some of the celebrities were put inside a makeshift prison cell and covered in bugs, while the others had to hold an insect in their mouths for 30 seconds.

Each one they completed would mean a star for camp and the contestants successfully won 12 stars.

After returning to camp, they discovered a red chair and a log cabin with two beds inside.

Inside the Bushtucker Telegraph, they found a ballot box where they cast their votes for the next leader.

James won five votes - prompting him to scoop the title and he then chose Jacqueline as his deputy.

Speaking about the election, James said: “Thank you, that’s very kind of you all.”

As part of their duties, they allocated chores to everyone and also handed out their luxury items.

Caitlyn Jenner had a luxury face cream, Roman Kemp was given a mug with a photo of his girlfriend and dog on it, Nadine Coyle had a tangle teaser, Andy Whyment brought lip balm, Myles Stephenson chose a Kodak camera, Andrew Maxwell had an inflatable chair, Jacqueline had a photograph with her family on it and James has a memory foam neck pillow.

Both Ian Wright and Cliff Parisi won praise from viewers for their luxury items which everyone benefitted from.

Football pundit Ian chose his favourite track - Kirk Franklin’s Looking For You - which he could have played three times.

Meanwhile Cliff brought in a Christmas tree with baubles.

Viewers said Cliff was a “legend” for choosing a Christmas tree.

When describing his reasons for bringing the tree in, Cliff said: "This is something I think we might all enjoy a little bit."

The rest of the campmates then cheered at his decision.
