Mary Berry has revealed she was once detained at a US airport after carrying cooking ingredients in plastic bags.
The veteran baker joined Graham Norton for a chat alongside Claudia Winkleman, her Britain’s Best Home Cook co-host on Friday's show.
As Winkleman revealed that working together “revealed Mary’s darker side”, Berry took over the story and explained that she was “arrested” 25 years ago.
Berry said: “I was going to the US to do some cookery demonstrations and was worried that there might be problems so I weighed out all the ingredients – flour, sugar – and put them all in little plastic bags.

Suddenly I was surrounded by uniformed people and my assistant and I were put in separate cells. It was alarming.”
She added: “When I was asked if was going to make money from the stuff, I said ‘I do and my fee has already been agreed’.”

Sherlock star Benedict Cumerbatch was also on the chat show to talk Doctor Strange and whether fans can expect to see him again.
Shrugging, he said: “Let that rumour take flight. This film is so shrouded in secrecy.”
Also on the show, Maxine Peake talked about doing stand-up and Friends star and Top Gear host Matt LeBlanc confessed theatre isn’t “for him”.
