Rebekah Vardy has claimed she was ‘pressured’ into calling her I’m A Celebrity camp mate Iain Lee ‘a fake’ and a ‘game-player’.

Vardy wasted no time in revealing her thoughts on Lee in her exit interview on sister programme Extra Camp after she became the third person to be eliminated from the show.

But she later appeared to backtrack on her remarks, insisting they were taken out of context, during an interview with Good Morning Britain.

Vardy was asked by Piers Morgan whether it would be ‘annoying’ to have to have to spend her life in the jungle with Lee.

She replied: “I was under pressure when I made that comment about him earlier being an ‘utter fake’. That was slightly taken out of context.

“Do you know what? Iain and I had some really nice conversations, we spoke about what we’d been through in our past and I gave him a lot of pep talks.”

The mother-of-four also revealed that the group had made him a medal for overcoming his fear of heights during a Bushtucker Trial.

“We actually presented him with something,” she said. “It was for his courage and his bravery for doing something that he did, confronting one of his most painful fears.

“It was a medal. It was a special homemade medal. It was a ‘as hard as nails’ medal and we wanted him to know that we were so proud of him for doing what he did.”

Her comments come after viewers accused Vardy of bullying Lee and ganging up on him with fellow celebrities Jamie Lomas and Amir Khan.
