Former S Club 7 popstar Hannah Spearritt is set to join the cast of EastEnders.
The singer and actress will join the dysfunctional Taylor clan, who recently set up home in Walford.
Spearritt will play Kandice, the ‘outspoken’ sister of the Taylor family matriarch Karen.
Speaking to The Sun, Spearritt revealed she ‘couldn’t wait’ to start her new role on the BBC soap.
“I’m over the moon to be joining the show. It’s such a huge part of British telly,” she told the publication.

“I’m really looking forward to getting started and can’t wait to see the Square in the flesh. Walford here I come.”
It’s the latest in a string of TV roles for Spearritt, who starred as Abby Maitland in ITV’s Primeval, BBC’s Death In Paradise and most recently in long-running medical soap Casualty.
Spearritt isn’t the first former pop star to join the EastEnder’s cast. Earlier this year, Lee Ryan, ex-member of boy band Blue, landed a role in the soap as barman Woody Woodward.

A TV source said that if she ‘proves popular’ Spearritt could follow in Ryan’s footsteps by bagging a long-term spot on the show.
“Producers are exciting about casting Hannah in the show and if she proves popular she could be back as a more permanent fixture,” the source told The Sun.
EastEnders continues Thursday, October 26 at 7.30pm on BBC One.
