Mel Giedroyc might be leaving the Great British Bake Off, but she’s not disappearing from your screens for good.

The presenter has been lined up to co-host the BBC’s new Take That singing contest Let It Shine.

Giedroyc will be joining Graham Norton for the series, which aims to find a band to perform in a forthcoming Take That stage musical.

The show is set to air across eight episodes in 2017.

Singer Dannii Minogue and Spandau Ballet bassist Martin Kemp will be joining Take That’s Gary Barlow as permanent judges on the show.

"I'm so excited to be returning to the UK and joining the judging panel of Let It Shine,” said Minogue, who previously judged on the X Factor.

"To be a performer, you must have a burning desire to perform, then you train at all the skills you need to shine. This show gives everyone that chance."

Kemp said he “won't just be judging, but trying to give a constructive thought that will help [the contestants] towards winning that incredible final prize."

Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins announced that they would be stepping down from the Great British Bake Off when Channel 4 outbid the BBC for the rights to the show.
