The Apprentice 2015: Richard Woods risked sight and paralysis for spot on Lord Sugar's show

The Apprentice candidate Richard Woods risked paralysis and losing his sight after hiding a medical condition from the show’s producers.

Richard suffered three mini strokes three months before applying for the chance to become Lord Sugar’s new business partner, but feared he would be rejected from the show if he disclosed the condition.

Speaking to The Sun he said: “I knew they wouldn’t put someone on who had strokes.

“They are normally associated with stress and being fragile. I left it off the application, knowing what I was doing.”

Richard also revealed that he has been left with permanent vision loss after delaying a procedure to improve his sight.

“By the final week I literally can’t see out of my left eye,” he said. “I was so concerned about showing weakness, I risked losing my left eye.

“I was also at risk of having a repeat stroke, which could have caused me to be paralysed or even die.”
