Taricco told Standard Sport: "I did not punch him. I do not know why he would say that. Perhaps it is because I am Argentinian? I did nothing wrong and he can say what he likes."
Hoddle and his players were also incensed by referee Steve Dunn's decision to award Chelsea a spot-kick when Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink appeared to stub his toe before crashing to the ground.
Tottenham players surrounded Dunn and his assistant but the Bristol official said he made the right decision, which allowed Chelsea to take a 2-1 lead.
"There was never a doubt in my mind that it was a penalty," said Dunn. Hoddle said: "Hasselbaink didn't dive. He just stubbed his foot and fell over. There was no contact at all by Ledley King."
More ill-feeling had boiled over as Frank Lampard was sent off for a second bookable offence after Dunn's assistant saw him throw a punch at Chris Perry.
Ranieri said Perry should have been booked for pushing Lampard but the Spurs defender said: "I thought Frank had gone down too easily so I shouted at him. He got up and aimed a punch which caught me on my chest. I just walked away but the linesman obviously saw it."
Meanwhile, Tottenham midfielder Tim Sherwood will donate his win bonuses to the disaster fund set up to help the families of those killed by the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington last week.
