Meanwhile, connections of Ad Hoc - a leading competitor in the feature event of this Saturday's fixture, the attheraces Gold Cup (formerly the Whitbread) - have warned punters he is no certain runner if the weights rise by too much.
"I want to have a look at the race before making a decision," said Barry Simpson, racing manager to Ad Hoc's owner Sir Robert Ogden.
"If too many horses defect from the top of the handicap, that brings horses like Frenchman's Creek into the race on their proper marks. That would be bad news for Ad Hoc.
"The horse himself is in tip-top shape. But unless he has a realistic chance of winning, he won't run."
With Foxchapel King and Marlborough definite non-runners for the 3m 5f chase, Sackville has currently been elevated by 6lb to carry 11st 12lb top-weight.
But the Frances Crowley-trained chaser runs in his native Ireland this Wednesday and has been marked a doubtful participant at Sandown.
Frenchman's Creek remains 3lb out of the handicap proper, but would run off his correct mark if Sackville was withdrawn.
Go Ballistic, the 13-year-old gelding trained by Henrietta Knight, is set to race for the final time in the attheraces Gold Cup.
Jim Culloty, who partnered stablemate Best Mate to victory in the Cheltenham Gold Cup and Bindaree to his Grand National triumph, takes the ride.
