"I actually have until 11 August before the final team nominations must be made," added Radcliffe. "Hopefully, by then I will be fit enough for Paris. But I will only compete if I am completely 100 per cent fit."
Meanwhile, Katharine Merry has today withdrawn from the Norwich Union AAA World Championships Trials in Birmingham because of tonsillitis.
The 400 metres star, who only recently returned to competition after a two-year absence with an Achilles injury, will still have six international meetings in which to achieve the qualifying mark of 51.34 seconds for the championships in Paris next month.
"I'm obviously very disappointed to miss taking part in the trials," Merry said.
