Jody Cundy claimed Great Britain's seventh gold of the Rio Paralympics - four years after the expletive-laden rant which changed perceptions of Paralympians.
Cundy won the C4/C5 one-kilometres time-trial in one minute 04.492 seconds to claim his sixth Paralympic gold.
The 37-year-old from Wisbech had hoped that landmark would come in front of a home crowd at London 2012, but officials ruled against him.
After hurling invective and water bottles in the direction of the officials, Cundy refocused on Rio - and he delivered.
The eighth and ninth gold medal rrived soon after as Georgina Hermitage set a new world record to take gold in the women's T37 100m sprint, despite a slow start, while Sophie Hahn finished first in Women's 100m T38.
