The 2023 Grand National went the way of Corach Rambler, who backed up his Cheltenham Festival success of last month with a sensational victory.
Sent off the 8/1 favourite under Derek Fox, the nine-year-old jumped into the lead going to the last and surged well clear of runner-up Vanillier, who could not close the gap on the run-in.
It proved a chaotic renewal of the Aintree classic, with loose horses causing havoc on the first circuit and a number of well-fancied runners failing to complete the course.
