Manuel Lanzini has admitted that it’s an ‘an absolute honour’ to be linked with Liverpool.

The Argentine midfielder is currently on loan at West Ham from UAE side Al Jazira, and scored three goals in 10 Premier League appearances for the Hammers thus far.

Speaking last week, West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan insisted that the club have an ‘unbreakable option’ in place to sign the 22-year-old.

He told the club’s official website: "I know there have been some reports in the media over the weekend surrounding the future of Manuel Lanzini.

"We have an unbreakable option with both Lanzini and his club, so any other team's interest is irrelevant.

"Manuel has been a fantastic signing for the club and we all hope he can maintain this superb run of form for the rest of the season."

But while Lanzini insists he is ‘focused’ on today match against Tottenham, he admitted he was honoured to be linked with Liverpool.

Speaking to ESPN FC, Lazini said: "I heard the president say that the club wants me to stay. I am fine here.

"It's an absolute honour that a team like Liverpool has put an eye on me, but at [the] moment I am focused on the match against Tottenham. It's a good team to play against."
