Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel has swerved talk of a deal for Tottenham's Danny Rose, but praised the England full-back.

The 28-year-old, who can still leave the club before the August 31 deadline in France, made 10 appearances last season after being hampered by injuries and is now considered second-choice by manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has deployed Ben Davies at left-back for the opening two games of the season.

Standard Sport understands Spurs are open to Rose moving out on loan and held talks with Schalke earlier this summer, before the England international turned down a move to the Bundesliga.

PSG have also been linked with a move for Rose and German coach Tuchel did little to suggest the full-back was not on his list of targets ahead next week's transfer deadline.

"I will not comment on transfer rumours," Tuchel said in a press conference ahead of PSG's match against Angers.

"I will simply say that I came up against Tottenham Hotspur three years ago and it took me three days to work out how best to combat him [Rose]."

Reports suggest the Ligue 1 champions are also chasing Atletico Madrid full-back Filipe Luis and any move for the Brazilian could end their interest in signing Rose.

With Tottenham unable to sign any more players after the UK transfer window closed earlier this month, Pochettino may consider using Kyle Walker-Peters as back-up for Davies.
