Crystal Palace defender Pape Souare today vowed to “come back stronger” from the injuries he suffered in a serious car crash.

The 26-year-old fractured his thigh and jaw in the accident on the M4 two weeks ago and is expected to be out for at least six months.

Souare said: “It is with a deep feeling of gratefulness that I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all and everyone for their support in this tough time.

“Your prayers, messages, calls, pictures, banners and all other kind gestures are really touching and appreciated.

“It is keeping me going. I will come back stronger for you guys, for us.”
