Newcastle are weighing up an improved fifth offer for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
Palace rejected a fourth bid of £60million, plus £5m in add-ons, last week and Eagles chairman Steve Parish has told Newcastle to stump up “superstar money” if they want to sign the 24-year-old England centre-back.
Palace value Guehi, who starred at Euro 2024, at up to £70m, and Parish is playing hardball with Newcastle’s Saudi Arabian owners.
The Eagles want to keep a player they signed from Chelsea for £18m in 2021.
