Arsenal target Yannick Carrasco has revealed he is hopeful of returning to Europe from China this summer, but refused to confirm whether the Gunners are the club interested in signing him.

Carrasco currently plays for Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang, but the 25-year-old is wanted by Unai Emery as the Spaniard looks to strengthen his options on the flanks.

Arsenal are believed to now be keen on signing Carrasco on a season-long loan with an option to buy, although Dalian would prefer to sell the Belgium international outright this summer.

The Gunners, though, remain hopeful of recruiting the 25-year-old this summer - a feeling that is shared by Carrasco, who revealed that his hopes of playing in Europe again depend on Dalian's president sanctioning the transfer.

"The whole world knows that I want to return to Europe," Carrasco told Spanish publication AS.

"Now, it depends on the president and I hope he finds a solution."

When then asked whether Arsenal are the club interested in signing him, Carrasco replied: "I can't speak about the club.

"Now I am not the one who chooses, but my president. He decides if he lets me go or not, but I hope I can come back."
