A day 22 years in the making has finally arrived as Arsenal will celebrate the Premier League trophy with their supporters. The Gunners clinched the title 11 days ago, ending a long drought, as a result of Manchester City failing to beat Bournemouth and that night saw fans descend the streets of north London, partying until the early hours of the following morning.
In addition to the Premier League title, the club have confirmed the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup will also be on show during the Arsenal trophy parade following Renee Slegers side’s historic win over Corinthians earlier in the year. Spirits are still expected to be high despite defeat on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final yesterday evening.
Though the Gunners missed out on completing a first-ever Premier League and Champions League double, it is still a highly successful season for Mikel Arteta's team and the turnout should reflect that. Here is Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli speaking during the parade:
“It’s been an amazing season for us. They (the fans) have been with us the whole journey, now it’s amazing to share this moment and the trophy with them,” said the Brazilian.
“This is joy, to see them celebrating and we enjoy it as well.
“There are no words to describe this moment, this is for the fans, the staff, the players for everyone. We’ve been trying to give our best on the pitch for us and for them as well.
“To be here today is amazing we just need to enjoy it.”
