England 90 Samoa 24: Netball World Cup hosts maintain 100 per cent record

England maintained their 100 per cent record at the Netball World Cup with a dominant 90-24 victory over Samoa on Sunday.

Jo Harten scored with 31 consecutive goal attempts as England cruised into a 43-11 half-time lead in Liverpool.

Returning to the starting line-up after Rachel Dunn dominated in Saturday's Group D match against Scotland, Harten was in merciless form against one of the tournament's minnows.

The task ahead is due to get tougher for Tracey Neville's team who will start their second round group phase on Monday against opponents yet to be determined.

With those bigger tests in mind, Neville rested Harten for the third quarter enabling Dunn to continue the fine form she had shown against the Scots as she scored 16 from 17 in the third quarter.

Despite England's complete dominance, the Samoans were putting up enough resistance to prevent the hosts surpassing the 99 point-haul they had achieved in the 2007 event against Malaysia.
