Tom Hardy has reportedly been fired from the hit Paramount Plus series MobLand.
The actor, 48, plays Harry Da Souza, a fixer for the Harrigan crime family in the Guy Ritchie-directed thriller, which first aired last March.
He appears opposite a star-studded cast including Piers Brosnan, Joanne Froggatt, Helen Mirren and Paddy Considine and the second series is expected to air later this year.
Hardy, however, was reportedly axed from the anticipated third series following a series of clashes with producers on set during filming for the second series.
“Hardy was apparently late to set a bunch, constantly asked to give notes on scripts, attempted to change dialogue, and expressed his displeasure that a series initially built around him was increasingly becoming an ensemble showcase for Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and other co-stars.”
Tom Hardy has reportedly been fired from MobLandGettyA source claimed producer Butterworth “threatened to quit”, which led to Hardy being let go by Paramount instead.
The report added: “His contract does contain a mutual option for the third season, so he could have bailed on his own if he wanted.”
Set in the shadowy underworld of London, MobLand follows the powerful Harrigan family, led by husband and wife Conrad (Brosnan) and Maeve (Mirren), as they clash with a rival crime syndicate whose reach spans the globe.
The gangster drama marked the first time that Hardy and director Ritchie had worked together in 17 years.
Discussing their reunion, Hardy told The Hollywood Reporter last April: “Well, I just called him on the phone and it didn’t feel like that much time had passed and he was already interwoven into the project.
“So we had a catch-up and pretty shortly afterward, we were on set working. So it was pretty straightforward.”

Ritchie previously praised the actor in the role, saying: “He obviously is the right guy for the job.”
Another of Hardy’s projects, his thriller Havoc, hit the screen last year - this time on Netflix.
Directed by Gareth Evans (The Raid, Gangs of London), the film sees Hardy play a bruised detective navigating a city consumed by corruption.
This summer, he is set to star in a film directed by Sean Penn.
Penn told Vanity Fair last year: “I’m making a movie with Tom Hardy, which we can’t shoot until next summer because Tom is busy with the mob show [MobLand]. I just think he’s extraordinary.”
