Three for one at Asda

Not so long ago they were stacking shelves at Asda - now they hope to be shifting CDs instead.

The Noise Next Door are Britain's newest boy band, and they already have a unique selling point to make them stand out in a crowded market.

They are said to be the world's first pop star triplets.

Identical 18-year-olds Craig, Ed and Scott Sutton were discovered by music producer John McLaughlin after he popped into Asda on a visit to Portsmouth, their home city.

The three had been working part- time there while at music college.

Mr McLaughlin said: 'I saw one and I thought, "He looks like he should be in a band". Then I saw him again at the other end of the supermarket.

'Then I saw him again in a completely different area and I started wondering if I had gone mad or come across the world's fastest shelf-stacker.

'I talked to one of them who said he was one of triplets. He told me he was in a band so I asked him to send me a tape. It was the best I had heard in a long, long time.'

The band have already caused a stir in the pop world. They performed the theme tune for Saturday morning ITV1 children's show Ministry Of Mayhem, last month they signed a £1million deal with record label Us & Them, and they will release their first single in October.

'I have never known things happen so quickly for a band,' said Mr McLaughlin.

Their 'punky pop' sound is a lot like that of boy band Busted, also produced by Mr McLaughlin. All of the brothers sing on their tracks and Craig and Ed play guitar and Scott drums.

The brothers, whose father is a semi-professional musician, named their band after numerous complaints about noise from their neighbours.

Mr McLaughlin says their close bond means they have the sort of instinct that normally comes to bands only after working together for decades.

'They have an underlying synchronicity that I have never seen in a pop band,' he said. 'They almost appear to be making their music telepathically.'
