Rachel Stevens has given fans a rare glimpse inside her stunning new £1.1 million three-storey London home as she looks to the future following her split from Dancing On Ice professional Brendyn Hatfield.

The S Club 7 singer, 47, began dating the skater after her marriage to property mogul Alex Bourne — father of her two daughters, Amelie and Minnie — ended in 2022. However, she and Brendyn, 40, quietly called time on their relationship last month, just as her ex-husband prepares to welcome a baby with new wife Lily, 31.

Now single again, Stevens has purchased a four-bedroom semi-detached house in the capital, complete with a “substantial” garden, open-plan living space and light-filled interiors. The ground floor features a reception room, shower room and a large kitchen-dining-living area opening onto the garden, which is screened by high fences for privacy.

According to planning documents, the singer intends to convert the adjoining garage into a utility and study room, add a roof light to her loft conversion and make adjustments to her front garden to create space for two cars on the drive. Local planners noted the design “will sit comfortably in the street scene”, with several nearby homes having carried out similar works.

Stevens bought the property in October last year after the previous owner failed to secure permission to convert it into three separate flats, and has since been focused on turning it into a comfortable, modern family home that reflects her new chapter.

“Some days you feel empowered and think, ‘Yes, I’ve got this,’ and other days you just want to cry under the duvet,” she shared. “I don’t know if I ever fully grieved the loss of my marriage. For a long time I just put a lid on my feelings because they were too much.”

Despite the challenges, she said she remains “a hopeless romantic”: “I’ve always been a relationship girl. I love love — I want that movie love.”

Looking ahead to turning 50, Stevens added: “You should celebrate every year. I like the power of being emotionally more mature — it’s all a work in progress.”
