Lily Allen has apologised to Edith Bowman after calling the radio DJ a “trollop” in an old social media post.
The Madeleine singer, 41, admitted she had “absolutely no reason” for her comments in 2006 about the Scottish presenter, 52.
She had written: “Rudely awoken by the radio and that trollop Edith Bowman warbling on about how she is just BESTEST friends with just about anyone, so long as they are in a band and preferably wearing skinny jeans and stripey cardigans, and how the Magic Numbers are just absolutely brilliant, AGAIN.”
When asked by Perfect Magazine who she would make an apology to, Allen named Bowman.
”I called Edith Bowman a trollop in one of my very early MySpace posts, for absolutely no f***ing reason, and I apologise,” she said.
Bowman previously revealed she called Allen out on her comments during an interview at T in the Park.

“I remember I had to interview her. It was raining and she was in a poncho and prom dress and trainers. I went up and said, ‘Hello, what's the problem? What have I done to offend you?’
“She just kind of said, 'I'm the type of person who speaks before I think and I was sat there every day listening to Radio 1 and waiting for you to play my record and I just lashed out. I am sorry.'”
The Smile singer’s apology comes after she hit back at critics claiming her recent West End Girl concert was too expensive and short.
She drew backlash after performing the 50-minute show at London’s O2 stadium in June, with fans being charged up to £86.
The West End Girl tour involves Allen singing her 14-track album in its entirety, detailing the devastating fallout of her marriage to David Harbour and his “three-year affair” with a younger woman.
After her London gig, one user wrote on X: “Lily Allen at the O2. No support act. Arrived on stage at 9:10pm. All wrapped up by 10pm. Not one word to the audience.”
Allen hit back, writing: “There is a support act. The show has always been advertised as ‘Lily Allen performs West End Girl.’

“I was a few mins late as my tights were laddered and I had to change them. The show is just over an hour as it’s just the album in its entirety.”
She went on: “It’s my artistic choice not to talk to the audience, the fourth wall helps with the storytelling. Most people find it to be effective.
“I don’t want anyone to feel ripped off, everyone on this tour is really working very hard to give people the best show we possibly can, and I'm extremely proud of it.”
