Emily Atack helped usher in the festive season this week, leading a string of glittering events across the capital as London’s party circuit hit full swing.

Upstairs at Langan’s, Perrier-Jouët played host to a lively afternoon of celebrations, with the Rivals star joined by James Blunt, Rosie Fortescue, Amanda Wakeley and Henry Holland for a suitably spirited toast to December.

Over on Bond Street, Charbonnel et Walker marked 150 years of luxury chocolate-making with an elegant anniversary event at its Royal Arcade store.

Guests including Roxy Horner, Marchioness Emma Thynne, Tigerlily Taylor, Lady Amelia Windsor and Christopher Chung were handed a signature truffle on arrival before sampling canapés of pickled artichoke, salt-baked carrot and beef carpaccio, served alongside champagne.

Chairman Galvin Weston welcomed friends of the brand, while a live violinist and Victorian-costumed performers added a theatrical touch to the evening.

To celebrate the milestone, the chocolatier unveiled three limited-edition desserts created in partnership with Feather & Choux.

Meanwhile at BFI Southbank, some of Britain’s most recognisable names gathered for an exclusive preview of The Beatles Anthology ahead of its Disney+ release.

Joanna Lumley, Richard Curtis, Felix White, and members of the Beatles families — including Olivia Harrison, Mary McCartney, Jay and Lee Starkey — joined a crowd that included Griff Rhys Jones, Sir Tony Robinson, John Simm, Gary Kemp, Tim McInnerny and Apple Corps CEO Tom Greene.

Hosted by Caitlin Moran, guests stayed on for a Q&A featuring Lumley, Curtis, White and director Oliver Murray as they reflected on the newly restored, nine-episode series, which is available to stream on Disney+ now, charting the band’s extraordinary rise.

And at London Bridge, Backyard Cinema returned with a revamped Christmas experience, transforming a Victorian warehouse on Tanner Street into an Enchanted Forest Theatre.

Alison Steadman, Nina Wadia, Kay Burley and Olympian Montell Douglas were among those stepping inside the immersive world of live music, festive performance and classic Christmas films, running until 31 December.
