Beverley Callard has announced that “it’s a wrap” on her radiotherapy treatment following her breast cancer diagnosis in February.
The Coronation Street star, 69, started radiotherapy sessions earlier this month to treat early-stage breast cancer and has been documenting them via social media.
She announced the positive update in an Instagram video, but admitted she felt “a bit numb” and “too tired” to celebrate the milestone.
“I’ve done it, I’ve just finished my last radiotherapy session, fingers crossed,” she said.
“That was number ten for me and lots of people have to have lots more, I know that. But for now, that’s finished so hopefully, don’t know for sure, but hopefully I won’t need any more.”
Callard’s husband Jon McEwan, who filmed the video, can be heard saying from behind the camera: “Positive thinking, darling, that’s it.”
The actress continued: “To be honest, I feel a bit numb. Yesterday I really struggled, but today I’ve been fine.
“I’ve got to see the professor again in two months and then I’ll know a lot more and mammograms and oncologists and all that, but radiotherapy is finished for now, so I’m really thrilled.
“I’m not going to celebrate tonight, we’re too tired, we can’t be bothered. I’m going to put scruffy clothes on and just sit and watch TV with a cup of tea.”
In the video caption, the soap star wrote: “And that’s a wrap on radiotherapy! 10 sessions over and done with!
“Lots more appointments down the line but for now…I’m so happy for it to be over!”
Famous friends and fans celebrated Callard’s update in the comments, with Loose Women’s Denise Welch writing: “Woohoo!!!”

Doctor Who showrunner and screenwriter Russel T Davies added: “Well done darling!”
One fan said: “Well done, you’re so strong and inspiring, just relax and enjoy the soaps.”
Another chimed in: “I am so happy for you Beverley. You are always so ositive and caring towards others going through their own cancer journey. Enjoy your cuppa and have a lovely weekend, Jon is incredible too btw.”
Callard is best known for her role as Liz McDonald in Coronation Street. She played the character on and off from 1989 to 2020 for more than 2,000 episodes.
Callard was a contestant on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here in 2020ITVIn 2020, she took part in I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and finished in fourth place. Last year, she returned to the jungle to film I’m A Celebrity... South Africa but was forced to leave the camp after collapsing.
The episode was filmed in September 2025, before Callard received her diagnosis. In an Instagram video, she explained that she had not been feeling well while in the camp, but was “gutted” to have to leave.
"Of course, I didn't know then that I had cancer, but I just knew that it was the last couple of days there that I hadn't felt very well," she said, in tears.
"I went into the Bush Telegraph and apparently I lost consciousness for a little while. I just wasn't feeling myself.
"They took me to a medical hut, and they were amazing, they really looked after me and they said, 'You can't go back'.
"I said, 'Don't send me home, I'm sure I'll be fine'. I've jumped out of a plane, I've hung off a cliff, and I did want to succeed and make it through to the end. But that was the start of everything, really.
"So it's made me really emotional. But I will beat this. I will beat it."
The actress and her husband Jon moved to Ireland earlier this year after she took the role of Lily Patterson in Irish soap opera Fair City.
