Riverdale star Charles Melton shares first glimpse of newborn as he welcomes baby with Camille Summers-Valli

Charles Melton has announced he has become a father for the first time.

The Riverdale actor, 34, shared the news on social media alongside his partner, director Camille Summers-Valli, posting a series of photographs introducing their newborn.

In one image, Summers-Valli cradles the baby while Melton leans in to kiss her cheek. Another shows the couple together with their child as they embrace the moment as a new family.

He captioned the post simply: “Our family.”

The couple have not disclosed their child’s gender or confirmed when the baby was born.

Fans quickly filled the comments with messages of congratulations. One wrote: “I think I missed a few chapters... But congratulations!!!”

Another shared: “Ooo my goodness, sweet blessing! Congratulations you are going to be the best daddy!!!! so so happy for your beautiful family xoxoxo.”

Others echoed the sentiment, with one follower writing: “I’ve never met you, but I’m so emotional for you right now. Congrats! Wishing you all peace and security.”

Melton and Summers-Valli have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye and have rarely spoken about it publicly.

The director announced her pregnancy earlier this year, sharing a post in January captioned: “Making a lil family,” alongside photos revealing her baby bump.

Melton appeared in several of the images, including one in which he kissed her stomach and another taken during a visit to the doctor’s office.

Before the relationship, Melton dated his Riverdale co-star Camila Mendes from 2018 to 2021. He was later linked to actor Chase Sui Wonders in 2022.

Away from his personal life, Melton is preparing for his next screen project, joining the cast of the second season of Netflix’s anthology series Beef.

The new instalment of the dark comedy drama is scheduled to premiere on April 16, more than three years after the show’s first season debuted.
