Matt LeBlanc is dating a Top Gear assistant producer, according to reports.

The US actor, 48, has struck up a relationship with Aurora Mulligan, 31, and the pair allegedly enjoyed a date at the Hickstead Derby, The Sun reported.

Onlookers told the publication that the pair looked “besotted” as they enjoyed each other’s company at the West Sussex event.

A show source said: “This has become a romance. Matt spends more time with Aurora than anyone else in the crew and there’s definitely a blossoming relationship there.

“It shows just how popular Matt has become behind the scenes in stark comparison to Chris [Evans’] frosty connection with the team.”

The news comes a day after it was reported that LeBlanc has allegedly threatened to quit the BBC motoring show if Evans is not sacked.

A source told The Sun that the atmosphere between the two hosts is “frosty” and that Evans is jealous of the attention his co-stars are getting.

“The team does not gel at all, and the atmosphere between the presenters is decidedly frosty,” the source said. “It’s very much a picture of him – Chris – and them.

“Matt has already indicated that he won’t continue on any further series if Chris remains part of it. And he is far from the only one who isn’t happy.”

Bookmakers last week slashed odds on a second series being commissioned after weeks of plummeting ratings and negative reviews from viewers.

But Sunday night's episode witnessed a rise in audience figures with 2.7 million tuning in compared to last weekend's 2.3 million.

The show, which featured Paul Hollywood and Jennifer Saunders, peaked at 3 million viewers and secured a 12.5 per cent share of the viewership compared with last week’s 10.4 per cent.
