Stephanie Davis has quit Twitter after Jeremy McConnell denied claims that she left him with a black eye.

McConnell was attacked with a bottle after a night out in Liverpool, but some fans speculated that the Irish model’s injury was a result of an altercation with Davis.

The former Hollyoaks actress has since told her 300,000 followers that she is ‘bored’ of the constant speculation surrounding their relationship and will be signing off of Twitter.

She tweeted: “Who ever invented social media boring reading all of this. Will not be tweeting for a while. Steph X.”

McConnell took to Twitter to hit back at those speculating that Davis caused the bruise, asking fans to give the couple a “day off”.

"Again people speculating. I got bottled on the streets of Liverpool. Police are looking into it. Thanks for your kind words everyone."

The couple - who met on Celebrity Big Brother - recently revealed they would consider attending couples therapy after they split twice after leaving the Channel 5 show in January over McConnell's cheating admission.
