Celebrity Big Brother winner Scotty T was arrested in connection with a firearms offence.
Scotty T – real name Scott Timlin – was pictured leaving a police station in Newcastle in the early hours of Monday morning.
He was let off with a caution, his spokesperson confirmed, after admitting to brandishing an "air weapon" in a public place.
In a statement his spokesperson told Standard Online: "This was meant to be a mindless piece of fun, but Scott realises how foolish it was and apologises for wasting police time.
"Scott complied with police and was cautioned and released."
The reality TV star – who found fame on MTV’s Geordie Shore – appeared to make reference to the incident on Twitter where he posted a crying emoji alongside the tweet: “Well that was a horrendous 6 hours.”
It is not the first time the TV favourite has had a run-in with the police.
In 2014 he was fined £265 and ordered to pay £100 compensation and £72 costs after hitting partygoer Sam Hilson in a Welsh nightclub during a promotional appearance.

The reports come three months after he beat Stephanie Davis to be crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother.
He went on to join the Dreamboys line-up but was most recently pictured celebrating Geordie Shore's fifth anniversary.
