Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton came close to bumping into one another at the Cinema Against AIDS amfAR gala, three years after they split.

The exes were both in attendance at the annual Cannes Film Festival bash, and walked the red carpet within minutes of each other.

Scherzinger looked stunning in a red fitted gown as she blew kisses to photographers.

Hamilton opted for a striped waistcoat which he teamed with a straw hat as he was greeted by Spanish racing driver Carmen Jorda, Brazilian model Adriana Lima, and Czech model Petra Nemcova.

He posed with the trio as they worked the cameras outside the prestigious Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on Thursday night.

The Formula One champion split from Scherzinger three years ago after seven years on and off together.

The former Pussycat Dolls singer previously told the Standard that her role as Grizabella in Cats at the London Palladium was the “only thing that really kept me going” during the break-up.

She said: “I was going through a break-up, but I was quiet about it. It was a very hard time for me, as it is for anybody who is going through heartache and heartbreak.

“When you’re going through a break-up you’re also dying yourself as well — if that makes sense — you’re sprouting new leaves and making transformations and shedding old skin. It’s about yourself as well when you’re going through those transitions in life.”

Hamilton is currently “swiping” in a bid to find “The One” on exclusive dating app Raya, according to The Sun.

A source told the publication earlier this month: “Lewis has been swiping a lot of socialites in London and uses it when travelling.

“He’s happy being single, but would like to find The One eventually.”

A representative for Hamilton declined to comment at the time.
