Nick Grimshaw has praised London as a creative hub.
The Radio 1 DJ and X Factor judge said: “You see so much in London and I love that you can wear whatever you want and no one is going to judge you.
"At events like Frieze some people are in traditional Savile Row suits or some have a crazy Lady Gaga look. When I visited I wore ripped jeans with paint on them.”
Grimshaw, who launched a collection with Topman this week, said the collaboration seemed like a natural fit.

“Topman is something that I genuinely wear all the time. I am a big fan of the shows they do so I thought they were the perfect people to team up with. Creating my range with them was a really lovely process – in fact it was one of the best things I have ever done.”
He has chosen an illustration of his dog Pig as the logo: “I heard that if you commit in your brain that you are going home, your dog can sense it and gets a happy feeling. I thought if I made Pig the face of the collection that would blow her mind.”
The mentor for the boys category on this year’s X Factor joked: “I would love all my contestants to wear the collection but I worry there are legal issues with forcing people to wear my shirts on ITV.”

He said the competition is now at his favourite stage: “I am loving X Factor more than ever because this is the bit when you are starting to mentor the guys and shaping them as artists.
"There is a lot of competition. Cheryl’s 4th Power group is good, Rita has some great girls and Simon has one or two acts that I need to watch out for. He always has something up his sleeve.”
