Maisie Williams celebrated turning 22 by sharing a slew of throwback snaps on Instagram.

The Game of Thrones actress treated fans to a baby-faced picture of herself sporting pink sunglasses on the beach, which she mockingly captioned: “It’s lit”.

Another showed her wearing school uniform, with her hair pulled back into a tight ponytail.

A third featured an unimpressed looking Williams alongside the caption: “F*** what you heard.”

Her best friend and fellow Game of Thrones co-star Sophie Turner also shared the shot of Williams beaming in her uniform.

Turner tagged the post with a sweet tribute: “Happy birthday to my ride or die.”

The pair formed a close friendship on the HBO show, with Turner recently revealing Williams will be her maid of honour when she marries boyfriend Joe Jonas.

“I don't know why she's thinking about [what she's wearing to my wedding],” Turner told Entertainment Tonight. “I'm giving her the bridesmaid dress!”

Williams reprised her role as Arya Stark on Monday when the hotly anticipated first episode of the final season aired.

She revealed that she was required to wear a “strap” to “reverse puberty” during the early seasons which saw her character pretend to be a boy.

In a candid interview, she told 60 Minutes: “There was a few seasons in the middle where I had to wear, like, a strap just to reverse puberty for the first few years while Arya was pretending to be a boy.

“It got to the point where the strap was no longer working. So, I was about 15, right, and he gave me, like, this little, chubby belly.

“I was about 15 years old. Like, I kinda just want a boyfriend, honestly. I don't wanna wear this.”
