The son of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington left him a touching note, encouraging his father to “love life” in the weeks before his death.

Eleven year old Tyler left a post-it note on his father's coffee mug telling him to enjoy his day at rehearsals.

The note, which included a reference to a Linkin Park song, read: “Dad, enjoy your rehearsal or whatever your doing today. Love life because it’s a ‘Castle of Glass’. Tyler.”

Bennington’s wife Talinda shared a picture of the note on Twitter with the caption: “Our Tyler is the best! @ChesterBe.”

Chester, 41, was found dead in a suspected suicide at a private residence in Los Angeles on Thursday, the Los Angeles County coroner has said.

He is survived by his wife and six children, three of which – Tyler Lee and twins Lilly and Lila – he had with Talinda.
