Katy Perry has ended her six-year feud with fellow pop star Taylor Swift with a heartfelt apology letter.
The Roar singer told Swift that she was “deeply sorry” for their long-standing argument as she extended an olive branch ahead of the singer’s Reputation world tour.
Swift shared a photo of the hand written note on her Instagram account on Tuesday, captioning it: “Thank you Katy”.
In an Instagram video, she told her followers that she had “just got to my dressing room and found this actual olive branch. This means so much to me.”
While most of the letter is still in the envelope, the visible lines read: “Hey old friend, I’ve been doing some reflecting on past miscommunications and the hurt feelings between us,” while the phrase “deeply sorry” appears a few lines later.
Perry has recently spoken about her desire to end the very public feud, which began when Perry reportedly stole three of Swift’s backing dancers for her own tour back in 2012.

The argument escalated when Swift released her award-winning song Bad Blood about the feud, promoting Perry to hit back with track, Swish Swish.
Speaking on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, Perry said: “You do something, there's going to be a reaction, and trust me daddy, there's going to be a reaction. It's all about karma, right?
"I think personally that women together - not divided and none of this petty bull**** - women together will heal the world.”

Perry claimed that she had tried to reach out to Swift in the past, but had been met with a brick wall.

“I tried to talk to [Taylor] about it, and she wouldn’t speak to me… It was a full shutdown, and then she writes a song about me and it’s like ‘OK, cool cool cool, that’s how you wanna deal with it?’ Karma,” she told Corden.
She added: “There’s a situation. Honestly, it’s really like... she started it and it’s time for her to finish it.”
