Kara Tointon has welcomed her first child with partner Marius Jensen.

The former EastEnders actress gave birth to a baby boy last Thursday, with Jensen telling Hello! they “couldn’t be happier”.

“On Thursday at 11.04am, 3.2 kilos of happiness joined our lives,” he told the publication. “Kara and I couldn’t be happier and our four legged companions Elfie and Winston have been guarding our new family member since.”

Tointon announced her pregnancy news earlier this year, describing the news as “incredible”.

She told Hello!: “It is the biggest life-changing moment when you have this little human being coming into your life that you are yet to meet. I can’t wait for motherhood and all the challenges it will bring.”

She also confirmed her engagement to Jensen in the same interview. She revealed they didn’t plan to have their first child so soon after Norwegian-born Jensen popped the question, but that she knew she had met the right person.

“For me it was always about meeting the person that you know is the one you want to share this experience with,” she said.

The couple met two years ago after being set up by mutual friends. They enjoyed their first date at the Royal Academy of Arts.

Tointon’s sister, fellow actress Hannah, also got this year to Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas.

The couple recently starred in comedy film, The Festival.
