Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have reportedly broken up after a whirlwind five months together.

The pair got engaged weeks after they started dating in May following Grande’s split from ex-Mac Miller.

But according to TMZ, they have called time because it “simply was not the right time for their relationship to take off”.

The US site added: “We’re told the two still have love for each other, but things are over romantically.”

The news comes days after it was reported Grande is taking time out to “heal and mend” in the wake of Miller’s death last month and the Manchester Arena attack which saw a suicide bomber murder 22 people at her concert in May 2017.

A representative told PEOPLE: “Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend.

“She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline.

“She thanks her fans for their understanding.”

Grande and Pete Davidson got engaged in June. The Saturday Night Live star said he knew he wanted to marry the God is a Woman singer the first time they met.

Speaking to GQ he said: “The day I met her, I was like, ‘Hey, I’ll marry you tomorrow.’

Speaking to Jimmy Fallon he said meeting Grande felt like he had “won a contest”.
