PJ Harvey will perform at Glastonbury Festival for the first time in over a decade, Emily Eavis has confirmed.

The singer last performed at the iconic Worthy Farm event in 2004 as part of her Uh Huh Her tour.

Speaking to BBC 6 Music, Eavis said: "The other thing that we have got is PJ Harvey's coming back - I think the last time she played was 1994, so it's been a long time.

“She's a local girl and she's amazing and always delivers an incredible show, so we're really excited about that."

The news comes a day after Coldplay were announced as the first headline act.

The British four-piece will close the festival on the Pyramid Stage on Sunday night.

Festival founder Michael Eavis has also quashed rumours of Foo Fighters headlining.

Speaking at the NME Awards he said: “We’re going to announce the full line-up in April and it’s the best line-up we’ve ever had. We’ve got Coldplay on the Sunday night, and even Jeff Lynne’s ELO. But Foo Fighters won’t be headlining this year, we’ve got three fantastic headliners but they aren’t one of them.”
