Felicity Jones has revealed she feared she would “mess up” one of Star Wars’ most iconic lines in the new Rogue One spin-off.
Jones, 33 – who plays Rebel Jyn Erso – said she practiced the line “May the Force be with you” at home while doing chores in a bid to perfect the delivery.
“[It’s] one of those iconic lines of cinema history so I have to say I definitely really thought about that one, I wanted to make sure I didn't mess it up on the day,” she told Sky News at the film’s premiere.
“There's a lot of saying it while you are doing the ironing, I always think it is the best way to learn lines.
“It works every single time, there was a lot of trying it over as I was doing household chores.”
Jones – who was joined by her co-stars Diego Luna and Riz Ahmed at London’s Tate Modern for the premiere – said she took inspiration from Harrison Ford and Sigourney Weaver’s performance in Alien to get into character.
The Academy Award nominated actress said: “Sigourney Weaver was a massive influence in playing Jyn as a character who very much keeps her own counsel and who is very headstrong - I wanted Jyn to have those features.

Rogue One takes place between Star Wars Episode III and Episode IV, and is the first of three planned spin-off films based on the epic universe.
The film follows Erso’s mission to steal the plans for the Death Star, the planet-destroying weapon of the evil Empire.
Rogue One is set for UK cinema release on December 15.
