Eric Bristow’s former I’m A Celebrity camp mates have paid tribute to the five-time world champion in the wake of his death.
Bristow, 60, died after suffering a heart attack on Thursday evening. The sportsman, often dubbed the “crafty cockney” took part in the ITV reality show in 2012.
Fellow campmate and boxer David Haye paid tribute to the “darts legend” who he praised with making the reality TV experience “memorable”.
He tweeted: “So sad to hear darts legend & great guy, Eric Bristow passed away.
“I was fortunate to spend 3 weeks as his campmate living in the jungle, even on the toughest of days his dry sense of humour & quick wit truly made the trip memorable. A real gent, he'll be missed by many. RIP x”
Former Made in Chelsea star Hugo Taylor shared a picture of himself hugging Bristow in the Australian jungle alongside the caption: “Deeply saddened to hear that Eric has left us.
“His immense Sporting talent, humour & warmth will be missed. #RIPEricBristow.”
Former Doctor Who actor Colin Baker described Bristow as his “no nonsense friend” who “kept me sane” in the camp.

Bristow, who was a founding member of the Professional Darts Cooperation (PDC), collapsed at a Premier League event in Liverpool on Thursday night.
Darts fans at the Echo Arena sang “There's only one Eric Bristow” as news of his death broke. Peter Wright, who was playing Daryl Gurney at the time broke down in tears.
Bristow was also a former Sky Sports pundit and received an MBE in 1989 for his services to sport.
