Relationships between upstairs and downstairs were forbidden on Downton Abbey – but two cast members may have broken the rules.
Laura Carmicheal – who played Lady Edith Crawley – and Michael C Fox – who played footman Andrew Parker – are dating, according to reports.
The pair struck up a friendship while filming the popular period drama and are believed to have gone public with their relationship during a romantic stroll through London’s Hampstead Heath, The Sun reported.
“Laura and Michael struck up a great friendship during filming last year,” a source told the publication.
“They started off as mates but quickly realised there was chemistry there and decided to start dating.

“It’s very early days still but they are really enjoying each other’s company.
“The best part is that since the show ended they have had a lot more time to spend with each other.
“Before that, most of their time together was at work.”
