Dave Benson Phillips was forced to apologise to shoppers after he scared them with a balloon.

The children’s TV presenter and ‘Godfather of Gunge’ was shopping in a Worthing branch of department store, BHS, when his son’s dog balloon burst.

Feeling bad for panicking shoppers and staff, he tweeted: “My apologies to the shoppers and staff at BHS, Worthing for my son's balloon dog going bang in the store. We are all very jumpy at the mo.”

People took to Twitter calling for the former Get Your Own Back presenter to be gunged while others joked that the scared shoppers will get their own back.
