CeeLo Green’s bizarre golden Grammys look compared to Ferrero Rocher and Quidditch snitch

CeeLo Green proved quite literally to be Twitter gold after he rocked up to the Grammys dressed head-to-toe in gold.

The singer – real name Thomas DeCarlo Callaway – became an intstant meme as he showed off his bizarre outfit, which featured a superhero-like face mask and metallic gloves.

Green arrived at Los Angeles' Staples Centre on a motorcycle with a group bikers.

Twitter had a field day with the outfit and renamed the singer CeeLo Gold before comparing him to an angry Ferrero Rocher, the golden Quidditch snitch, and C-3PO.

One user hailed him as a “national treasure” while another referred to him as a “gold goblin”.

The unusual look was in aid of his new alter ego, Gnarly Davidson.

He revealed his latest incarnation last week with a stab at CeeLo Green: “Look at me… LOOK AT ME! YOU DID THIS TO ME CEELO GREEN, YOU F****** IDIOT. BUT I LIKE IT, I’m actually…BETTER! Than you… than everyone!

“A karmikaze upon you! Vengeance is mine sayeth GNARLY DAVIDSON. P.S. TECHNOLOJESUS saves.”

The artist wasn't the only famous face hitting the headlines at Sunday night's ceremony.

Adele picked up five awards including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year which she dedicated to Beyonce.

She gave a shout-out to the US pop superstar for her album Lemonade, which was also nominated in the category – and even broke her trophy in half for her idol.

Speaking on stage she said: “The way you make me and my friends feel. The way you make my black friends feel is empowering. You make them stand up for themselves and I love you and I always have.”

Beyonce received two awards at the Grammys, taking Best Urban Contemporary Album for Lemonade, and Best Music Video for Formation.
